SAI is one of New Jersey’s foremost environmental investigation and remediation firms. Founded in 1986 by Marwan M. Sadat, Ph.D., P.E., SAI is a full-service firm handling a wide variety of environmental and civil engineering projects in the areas of:
It is becoming increasingly apparent that we need to protect our environment while at the same time need thriving and vibrant economies. Creating a balance between these two objectives takes a clear understanding of resource management, engineering, the environment, and the complex regulations that often dictate our response to it. The firm’s strengths come from the strong scientific and engineering background of its associates and staff and a thorough knowledge of agency rules, regulations and policies. The experience of the engineers and scientists at SAI was gained not only from helping clients comply with environmental policies but also from helping to shape those same policies while serving within the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). Key members of our firm, including Dr. Marwan M. Sadat, P.E., President and Founder of the firm, have held director-level positions within the NJDEP. They also assisted in the creation of many of the environmental regulations that are in existence in New Jersey today and that have been adopted by the US EPA as part of national programs.
This regulatory experience enables us to comprehend fully the regulations and agency oversight that frequently drive a project. SAI staff members have maintained sound working relationships with key decision makers within the agency and are well respected throughout the Department.
SAI maintains ongoing involvement in state-level committee and interest groups that assist in refining regulatory programs and requirements. Creating a balance between technical and regulatory aspects of a project is one way SAI provides clients with cost effective and efficient solutions to environmental problems such as permitting efforts and remediation strategies. Our Project Managers also have experience in developing and carrying out community relations programs, a crucial, but often overlooked aspect of environmental projects.
Many of SAI’s staff have advanced engineering and science backgrounds that complement SAI’s project management experience. Technical staff members have advanced degrees in the fields of Environmental, Civil and Hydrogeologic Engineering, Environmental Science, and Geotechnical Engineering. In addition, many members of the technical staff have more than 15 years each of professional environmental experience with industry, State and Federal agencies and various consulting firms.
